The Mornington Peninsula is known for its hot springs, spas, and relaxation services. As one of south-east Melbourne's largest TAFEs, Chisholm Institute plays a vital role in partnering with leading businesses in this space. The collaborations enhance training programs, benefiting the local industry and equipping students with the skills to start rewarding careers.

A recent collaboration with Peninsula Hot Springs showcases Chisholm’s commitment to connecting students with the industry. During a visit and information session, beauty therapy students engaged with the professionals, gaining insights into career pathways and inspiration for their futures.

For beauty therapy graduate Liara Murray, the visit was a turning point. Inspired by the experience, she secured a spa hostess role at Peninsula Hot Springs, launching her beauty career. “I’ve gained so much experience in my role,” Liara said.

This real-world approach to education is central to Chisholm’s beauty therapy courses. With training tailored to industry needs and evolving trends, students prepare to become stand-out candidates in a competitive field. On campus, they hone their craft in cutting-edge facilities and gain hands-on experience at the student-run Mysa Salon and Spa, all under the guidance of professionally experienced teachers.

"My teachers were instrumental in helping me develop my abilities, push myself, and always give my best effort," Liara said.

Chisholm’s hair, beauty and wellness education manager, Lorraine Castle, highlights how this robust network provides opportunities and bridges the gap between study and employment. “Our industry-leading partnerships give students access to hands-on experience and career-ready skills,” Lorraine said. “Liara’s story is a shining example of how these collaborations lead to meaningful careers.”

Thanks to industry partnerships and dynamic, hands-on training, Chisholm beauty therapy students graduate ready to make an impact – whether in luxury spas, their own salons, or beyond.
