We were engaged to conduct recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessment at Kiribati Institute of Technology (KIT), the leading vocational education and training institute in Kiribati.
Since the contract began, we have completed 150 RPL assessments per year. These involved Certificates II to IV in areas including electrotechnology, sustainable energy, hospitality, accounts administration, accounting, IT, electrical, plumbing, workplace skills, business, automotive servicing technology, sustainable energy, community and social services courses. Courses were delivered to both teachers and students.
Our contracted services to KIT included consultancy services, professional development, course development and support for KIT teachers. We also developed customised remote RPL guides for use where in-person assessment was not possible.
The RPL assessments, along with other professional development services, led to the award of qualifications that meet Australian standards. RPL assessments delivered at KIT were supported by the Australian Government’s Kiribati Facility Skills for Employment Program and developed in partnership with specialist project management company Scope Global/ Palladium.
