Chisholm Institute is a registered training organisation (RTO) with a long history and extensive experience in apprenticeship and traineeship course delivery. In 2022 we worked with industry to educate over 8,000 apprentices and trainees.

Our Apprenticeship Hub staff and experienced educators and trainers will work with you to understand your business requirements and the needs of your apprentice or trainee, to provide high quality negotiated training.

Apprenticeship training

An apprenticeship combines paid work with on-the-job learning and completion of a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Apprenticeships are completed in industries like building and construction, automotive, hospitality and hairdressing. Depending on the industry, an apprenticeship may take three to four years to complete.

Apprentices are employed and paid while they learn, including time spent while undertaking their training. Once the apprenticeship is successfully completed, the apprentice becomes a qualified tradesperson.

Chisholm apprenticeship courses include:

Building Trades

Hair, Beauty, and Make-Up

Horticulture and Landscaping

Hospitality and Cookery

Traineeship training

Traineeships combine paid, practical workplace employment under supervision and a nationally-recognised qualification with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), like Chisholm.

Traineeships are in non-trade areas such as aged care, allied health, aquatics, business, dental assisting, early childhood education, hospitality, information technology and are shorter in duration than an apprenticeship.

A traineeship can be full-time or part-time and can take one to two years to complete. Trainees are paid while they undertake a traineeship and once successfully completed, the trainee receives their relevant certificate qualification.
