Apprenticeship training
An apprenticeship combines paid work with on-the-job learning and completion of a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification.
Apprenticeships are completed in industries like building and construction, automotive, hospitality and hairdressing. Depending on the industry, an apprenticeship may take three to four years to complete.
Apprentices are employed and paid while they learn, including time spent while undertaking their training. Once the apprenticeship is successfully completed, the apprentice becomes a qualified tradesperson.
