Chisholm takes a stance against Family Violence

Family and domestic violence is any violent, threatening, coercive or controlling behaviour that occurs in current or past family, domestic or intimate relationships. Source: What is family violence? | Victorian Government

Family violence is a violation of human rights.

Chisholm is one of the leading TAFEs in Victoria committed to education and raising awareness about family violence response and primary prevention

Our Family Violence Training Hub (FVTH) will play a role in promoting family violence awareness to work towards the elimination of violence against women in Education and Community settings.

We have appointed a FVTH Coordinator to:

  • Provide a considered approach to delivering accredited and non-accredited family violence training
  • Promote family violence awareness and work towards the elimination of violence against women.
  • Provide a community of practice for our teachers delivering these programs. This will ensure content is reflective of current industry needs and standards, innovative learner engagement strategies identified and embedded, and teachers are supported and debriefed.

Host a range of industry events, including International Women’s Day and 16 Days of Activism events.

We’re developing a set of guiding principles and practice standards to align to a best practice model for the delivery of training to at Chisholm, in the education sector and the community.
