Chisholm students Coby Sannen, Grace Brook and Steven Sarnyai and their accompanying supervising teacher Mary Jarman headed off to Chile last week as part of the inaugural Lopez Lochert Scholarship program, which is part of the Victorian Government’s Latin America Trade and Investment strategy.
The scholarship allows Coby Sannen, Grace Brook and Steven Sarnyai to travel to Chile with 17 other Victorian students in January 2019 and study a Doing Business in Emerging Markets – Latin America course at Duoc UC, a tertiary institute in Santiago. The scholarship is named after Rafaela Lopez and Peter Lochert, two Victorians who have contributed greatly to the Latin American community in Victoria.
The scholarship opportunities are offered through a partnership between the Victorian Government and the Victorian TAFE network, including Chisholm Institute. In the last decade, Latin American student numbers have grown four-fold in Victoria, and the State Government hopes to attract even more students, whilst also encouraging Victorian students to study in Latin America.
Coby, Grace and Steven and their accompanying teacher will be outstanding ambassadors for Chisholm Institute. We'll be following their journey and look forward to finding out more about their experiences on their return in a few weeks' time.
