Learn in-demand skills with a bricklaying pre-apprenticeship

Learning bricklaying and blocklaying provides you with in-demand skills. It also keeps you active and allows you to be creative, building structures that will be appreciated for generations.

A Certificate II in Building and Construction (Bricklaying) gives you the skills and knowledge required for entry-level roles within the building and construction sector. The course will provide you with a strong foundation before starting a full apprenticeship. You'll also stand out as an attractive candidate to employers, showing your commitment to a bricklaying career.

This course allows you to explore the bricklaying and blocklaying trade and determine if it's right for you. Whether you choose to specialise in bricklaying, pursue another trade, or consider various roles within construction, it can set you up in your career.

You'll get hands-on training at our bricklaying and blocklaying trade workshops. You'll gain practical skills in applying materials, tools, equipment, and techniques that form the basis of trade qualifications in Building and Construction/Bricklaying. You'll also learn to take measurements and calculations, communicate in the workplace, and ensure onsite workplace safety.

If you start an apprenticeship after successfully completing Certificate II in Building and Construction (Carpentry), you may be able to receive credit and reduce the duration of your apprenticeship.

This course is also suitable for those who want to learn basic bricklaying or blocklaying skills for personal projects.
