Build your career as an apprentice bricklayer

Bricklaying and blocklaying is a craft that takes time and skill to master.

As a qualified bricklayer, you'll have the skills of the highest standards for the construction industry. Your job will allow you to work outdoors and stay fit and active. You'll build structures that will have an impact on future generations. You could even be your own boss.

A bricklaying apprenticeship provides you with hands-on, industry-specific training. It gives you the opportunity to earn while you learn and prepares you to work on domestic and commercial projects.

You'll work full-time with your employer as an apprentice and learn in our state-of-the-art bricklaying facilities. Our industry-experienced teachers will support you through the Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying, which combines theory and practice.

You'll develop high-quality bricklaying and blocklaying skills. You'll learn how to construct decorative brickwork, lay paving and construct masonry arches, structural systems, steps and stairs. You'll also be able to read and interpret plans, apply levelling procedures and apply workplace health and safety requirements.

Once you complete the Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying, you can develop your skills further with Chisholm's Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building).
