Learn all the theory and practical elements of being a dental assistant and achieve a nationally recognised qualification
Combine work-based training as a workplace trainee in a dental practice and learn the theoretical elements with formal training from Chisholm.
Students must be employed in a dental practice and a training contract between the employer and the trainee is required prior to enrolment. Traineeships are a great way to be paid for work, learn and earn a qualification.
This qualification provides the knowledge and skills needed to assist a dentist, dental hygienist or dental therapist during all health care procedures. You will learn how to help maintain high standards of infection control and to assist with practice administration.
Chisholm offers flexible training options for students. Delivery can be provided completely in your own workplace via distance learning or on campus with evening classes offered remotely and at our Frankston campus.
We offer this option throughout Melbourne and some regional areas within Victoria. Please contact the department to find out more!
Please note: The unit HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is a mandatory unit for successful completion of this course. Students have the option to complete this unit at our Frankston campus on a Saturday, or provide a Statement of Attainment for the successful completion of this unit.
To successfully complete this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 350 hours of work as a Dental Assistant
Trainee timetable is flexible and students can be enrolled at any time. Please contact the department for further information nursingandAH@chisholm.edu.au
The information on the page is for trainees only. View the non-traineeship version of this course.
