As a hairdresser, you help people look and feel their best. You'll build strong, long-term relationships with clients and impact lives for the better.

The Certificate III in Hairdressing apprenticeship course provides you with hands-on industry-specific training. It allows you to earn while you learn and prepares you with the skills and confidence to work in the hair and beauty sector.

As an apprentice, you'll work with your employer four days a week. You'll learn in our state-of-the-art training salon, Mysa Salon and Spa, one day a week. At Mysa, you'll gain practical skills by working with real-life clients. You'll provide customised hairdressing services under the supervision of our industry experienced teachers.

You'll learn the latest techniques and be confident in cutting, colouring, highlighting, styling, and long hair design. You'll learn to identifying and treating hair and scalp conditions. And you'll focus on customer service, retail stock management, salon hygiene, healthy work practices, and more.

All skills assessments are required to be carried out on paying members of the public. Students are responsible for sourcing their own practice and assessment models. Teachers will provide guidance on how to create social media posts to attract models.

Chisholm courses are subject to minimum and maximum group numbers. Courses may be cancelled or postponed if minimum numbers are not achieved by the start date of the course. Courses may close prior to the start date if the maximum numbers are reached. In that situation, eligible applicants will be offered a place in the next available intake.
