Over the years we have partnered with 15 colleges across China to deliver engineering-mechatronics, accounting, building and construction, and individual support courses to their enrolled students. So far, 60,000 students have graduated from these programs.
This partnership offers the colleges a key point of difference when attracting new students. Graduates can use their dual qualifications to consider other global and career options. The collaboration provides local industry with a work-ready pool of bilingual local talent. For graduates, the benefits include dual qualifications, skills linked to prospective employment, improved English language skills and greater learning capacity.
Four of these colleges serve the power systems industry. Our current partnership with the Chinese Electrical Colleges has resulted in us customising a suite of courses to their specific needs and the requirements of their industry.
Each year, we deliver the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to teachers across the nine colleges, and this has resulted in 25 gaining Chisholm qualifications annually. We provide a supporting framework for professional development, appropriate local quality and risk frameworks, and regular joint management meetings in China. Additional benefits for teachers include exposure to the international education sector and new methods of delivery.
During pandemic restrictions we delivered via remote teaching modes, customising delivery to partner colleges. Our Professional Educator College provided support and education for the teachers, who also had access to advanced technology and a teachers’ aide or translator. Additional services included remote ELICOS provision and IELTS preparation for students across all qualification areas.
Our experience of training delivery in China spans more than 20 years and has covered a wide range of courses, qualifications and locations.
