Early Childhood and Care - Emma's Story
Online Study opened the door to flexibility and still being a full time mum!
Diploma of Early Childhood and Care online student and full time mum Emma Sutcliffe, was looking for study flexibility (when and where) and a way to fast track her qualification combining her prior bachelors degree in primary education.
"This course is solely online which meant I was able to make the choice to study and still be at home to care for my two year old daughter, meaning I could study when and where I wanted" said Emma.
"I had already established a career in education having worked with older children and children with special needs and this combined with finding myself at home creating educational activities for my daughter sparked my passion in wanting to work with kindergarten aged children".
Emma has found the online experience to very supportive and engaging, allowing students to choose their own level of engagement with teachers and other students.
"You can talk to and engage with other students and teachers via the online learning ‘virtual classroom’. You can ask questions and they can instantly reply. By using the open forum means there is a greater chance for your question to be answered or for interesting information to be shared".
