As a teacher in the Building and Construction area at Chisholm Institute of TAFE, Michael teaches workplace trainees and on-campus students.

By incorporating technology into education and training, he has been able to combine traditional classroom teaching with the flexibility and innovation that online resources can provide.

He believes that every learner has their own unique strengths and challenges.

“It’s important to have a flexible teaching approach that ensures the diverse needs of every learner are met,” said Michael.

“I always aim to equip my students with a valuable set of digital skills that align with evolving industry demands, and with knowledge of the latest industry standards and practices to ensure graduates are job ready.”

“I always encourage my students to engage in continuous professional development by making sure my own skills remain current and aligned with the evolving landscape of education in building and construction.

Michael always ensures that the curriculum he develops and teaches is aligned with industry needs.

By incorporating real-world case studies, industry examples, and practical applications into his courses, he prepares students for the challenges and expectations of the profession.

We congratulate Michael on being selected as a &finalist in the Educator of the Year category of the 2024 Chisholm Educator Awards.
