Develop your artistic identity and learn techniques across a range of art forms
The Certificate IV in Visual Arts expands your practical and theoretical skills in visual arts practice. You will extend your skills and knowledge across many art forms and develop confidence in a range of techniques.
This course's broad range of media and processes will help you find your artistic strengths. You'll explore self-expression and creativity through drawing, illustration, design, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art. You'll also learn about exhibition planning, creative thinking, and skills for building a practice in creative industries.
The program includes broad and foundational experiences in visual arts in the classroom. These classes support your understanding of your future direction in the industry. Some history and theory units will be delivered online, in real time, to allow continued learning from home. You'll take part in exhibitions held in professional gallery spaces. And you'll experience stimulating excursions and artist talks.
Chisholm's art facilities include expansive industry-standard painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture studios. You'll be taught by experienced, working artists with specialist knowledge. We have strong links with industry partners that provide technical and creative teachings from the visual arts field.
