Cultivate your skills and techniques to work in visual arts or other creative industries

Develop your technical, creative and conceptual skills to start an art or design career. By successfully completing a Diploma of Visual Arts, you could go on to work in your own arts practice. You could also work across a range of industries in creative roles.

Classes are delivered by experienced artists currently working in their field. Our teachers will inspire and support you through your course to create your unique portfolio.

Our extensive art facilities include industry-standard painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture studios. We focus on our links to industry and have partnerships that provide strong technical and creative expertise. These partners include curators, gallery directors and art business professionals.

This program also includes stimulating excursions, artist talks, and involvement in industry projects.

Your Visual Arts learning will cover multi-disciplines in art including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital media and illustration. This course will further develop your practical visual arts skills in a variety of traditional and digital media. You will learn to develop conceptual ideas, problem solving techniques, history and theory, sustainability and how to prepare artwork from creation to exhibition.

Our hybrid model of delivery means you will be able to learn your history and theory units online, in real time and come to campus for the practical learning in our studios.

An interview is required for entry into this course.
