The first step to an automotive apprenticeship starts here

Learn more about the automotive industry and gain experience in motor mechanics in this pre-apprenticeship course.

When you successfully complete Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation, you’ll be able to carry out a variety of vehicle repairs and servicing tasks with confidence.

During the course, you’ll learn practical skills in areas such as inspection and servicing of batteries, suspension systems, tyres, transmissions, and braking and cooling systems.
While this nationally recognised qualification may lead to a motor mechanic apprenticeship, many students go on to study higher level courses before gaining employment.

The Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation can be completed over 10 weeks (three days per week) and students are able to enrol, commence and finish the course at different times throughout the year.

If you gain an automotive apprenticeship after finishing this course, the schooling component of your apprenticeship training may be reduced.

Once successfully complete, you can develop your skills further with one of Chisholm’s Certificate III courses in the automotive field.
