Spark your career with an electrical pre-apprenticeship

According to Jobs and Skills Australia, electricians are in demand across many key sectors. These include roles in construction, manufacturing, and mining. All of these sectors are critical to the Australian economy.

A pre-apprenticeship can provide you with a strong start in the electrical trade. The course prepares you for an electrical apprenticeship. It also makes you an attractive candidate to employers as you’ll be prepared for the role and show your commitment to the trade.

The Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) can prepare you for many roles, including apprentice electrician, apprentice refrigeration and air-conditioning mechanic and more.

You'll get hands-on training in our state-of-the-art training environments. You'll learn electrical wiring and equipment, electrical drawing, electrical regulations, test instruments, and communications skills. The course also covers computer software applications, applied electricity and workplace health and safety.

If you start an apprenticeship after successful completion of the Certificate II in Electrotechnology, the schooling component of your apprenticeship training may be reduced.

This qualification is also offered as a VET Delivered to Secondary Schools program, which can be studied over two years during VCE.
