Gain skills to enter the engineering and manufacturing sector
Within the manufacturing sector, the need for skilled workers is high. This demand means there are plenty of entry-level job opportunities in the sector.
The Certificate II in Engineering Studies is a pre-apprenticeship and can prepare you for many roles. These include production worker/assembler, welder's assistant, machining assistant or maintenance assistant. It can also help you get an apprenticeship by positioning you as a candidate who is dedicated and prepared for the role.
Throughout your course, you'll be supported by industry-experienced teachers. You'll learn in our state-of-the-art engineering facilities. Your training will cover hands-on skills in basic machining, welding, and thermal cutting. You'll learn about intermediate engineering computations, fabrication and the safe use of hand tools. You'll gain skills in work health and safety principles and how to interpret and prepare basic engineering drawings.
This course is also suitable for those who want to learn basic engineering skills for personal projects.
If you gain an apprenticeship after successful completion of the Certificate II in Engineering Studies, the schooling component of your Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication or Mechanical stream) apprenticeship training may be reduced.
