In a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery apprenticeship, you'll earn while you learn and gain hands-on industry-specific training to become a professional chef.
You'll work with your employer four days a week. You'll also attend on-campus training in our state-of-the-art hospitality facilities one day a week.
Industry-experienced teachers will guide you through the course. Our teachers will support you through online and workplace assessments. They'll also facilitate excursions and opportunities to network with industry experts. You'll learn in our commercial training kitchens and gain practical skills in our student-run café and training restaurant.
After successfully completing your apprenticeship, you'll have the skills and qualifications to work in restaurants, cafes, hotels, international resorts and more. You'll be able to plan and cost menus and select and prepare a variety of food. You'll also know how to cater to specific dietary and cultural needs and apply food safety and hygiene procedures.
During the course, you can compete in professional industry events. These respected events include WorldSkills and AUS-TAFE Culinary competitions.
Once you've successfully completed the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, you can progress further with our Certificate IV in Kitchen Management.

Chisholm courses are subject to minimum and maximum group numbers. Courses may be cancelled or postponed if minimum numbers are not achieved by the start date of the course. Courses may close prior to the start date if the maximum numbers are reached. In that situation, eligible applicants will be offered a place in the next available intake.
