Chisholm’s Employer Knnect is a progressive web application into Chisholm Institute’s Student Management System where authorised employers and their nominated users can view the progress of their apprentices’ training. This online system is for Chisholm Institute to communicate with employers regarding timetables, attendance and progress, and provides a “real time” employer sign-off of individual units of competency.
This connection is for authorised users only. Actual or attempted unauthorised use of this information system may result in criminal and/or civil prosecution and could result in immediate removal of access. We reserve the right to view, monitor, and record activity on this system without further notice or permission.
By connecting to Employer Knnect, you acknowledge that you are familiar with and agree to comply with:

- “Users” are those who are authorised by the Employer to have full access to Employer Knnect to complete employer Sign-off requests, add or modify Contacts and their details, and view Apprentices’ progress, attendance and timetable information. Material accessed via the Chisholm Employer Knnect is to be used solely to support Apprentices’ training.
- “Accessing Device” is the device used to access Employer Knnect either to be a PC, tablet, laptop, smart phone, or similar devices
- Users will be provided with a web link, Username and Password which are for the sole use of the recipient and must not be used by or disclosed to any other person.
- Users must change the initial password to one which cannot be easily guessed
- Usernames and passwords must be kept secure to protect against unauthorised use.
- Users must take measures to keep computers and smart devices safe from both theft and unauthorised use, including ensuring a password or PIN is used. Passwords should not be stored in browsers for automatic logins.
- Users must ensure accessing devices used to access the Chisholm Employer Knnect have up-to-date anti-virus software installed.
- Users must protect the privacy of the apprentices’ information and photographs at all times and ensure that the information and photographs cannot be viewed by those unauthorised to do so, for example in a public area.
- Users must notify Chisholm Institute within two working hours of any breaches or potential breaches by emailing EmployerKnnect@chisholm.edu.au. Chisholm Institute’s Information Technology Service will be notified as soon as information is received.
- The employer must notify Chisholm Institute immediately of any change of users’ names and contact details by emailing EmployerKnnect@chisholm.edu.au.
- Users have the authority to set up “contacts” within the Chisholm Employer Knnect. Primary contacts may be the primary contact for the employer but not necessarily the person who receives individual employee/apprentice SMS updates. Contacts linked as the apprentice’s “supervisor” will receive SMS text messages about attendance of his/her apprentice.
- Contacts’ names, phone numbers, roles and email addresses must be updated immediately via the Chisholm Employer Knnect to reflect any changes.
- The employer must notify Chisholm Institute (within five business days) by emailing EmployerKnnect@chisholm.edu.au when users and contacts leave their role.
- Sign-off requests include a PDF icon next to the unit’s name which will take users directly to the Australian Government’s Elements and Performance, detailing the unit’s criteria. When a user ticks the relevant box and then the “submit” button, the user is confirming that the Australian Government’s Elements and Performance Criteria have been met. Unit sign-off does not constitute apprenticeship sign-off. NB Full completion and sign-off of apprenticeship contracts will continue to be managed via paper forms and is not currently part of the Chisholm Employer Knnect.
