  Physical:
  Must be able to stand unassisted and hold arms at shoulder height for prolonged periods of time, be comfortable working one on one in close proximity with persons of all genders
  
  Cognitive/Emotional:
  Consider requirements to communication with clients including challenging behaviours or situations. i.e. Emotional flexibility, and stability to cater for varying client needs and the ability to handle general stressors meeting deadlines, managing expectations, task management etc.
  Experience:
  Basic level 1 skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to use the internet as well as email and have access to a computer and/or tablet device
  
  Industry:
  Must have strong good communication skills, able to stand unassisted for prolonged prolonged periods of time with arms raised at shoulder height, work various hours that include late nights and on weekends, work on paying clients that are members of the public, be comfortable working one on one in close proximity with persons of all genders
  
  Resources:
  Students are required to provide their own paying models/clients for assessment as it is a training package requirement and will be advised accordingly by their teachers
  
  Attendance:
  It is expected that students will attend at least 80% of classes to obtain the required skills and knowledge.

  Language, literacy and numeracy

  You are required to complete a language, literacy and numeracy skills test before course commencement. This will determine course suitability and if you may need additional support.
  
  We use an approved online skills review tool to determine your language, literacy and numeracy skills within the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
  
  Below are the levels required for this course:

  • Language: 2
  • Literacy: 2
  • Numeracy: 3.

• Practical placement

  There are no practical placement requirements for this course.

• Simulated work environment

  Mysa Salon and Spa- The Mysa Salon and Spa is considered a real work environment and the salon policies and procedures must be followed
  
  • Flat, closed-toe shoes must be worn (no Ugg boots, thongs, or sandals)
  • Clothing must be clean and ironed, with no stains or damage
  • Pants, jeans, t-shirts, knee length shorts and skirts are acceptable.
  • Mid riff tops, active wear, hoodies, track pants, short skirts are not allowed.
  • Hair must be clean and styled.
  • Personal hygiene must be of an exceptional standard including clothing being washed regularly, regular showering and teeth brushing and use of deodorant
  • Student attire must not breach any anti-discrimination legislation or have logos.
