The Certificate IV in Engineering has been designed for the experienced tradesperson who has already undertaken a Certificate III in Engineering.

• Must be currently employed and have a Registered Training Agreement with their employer
Entrants will have completed any one of the following qualifications,
• MEM30205 Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade,
• MEM30305 Cert III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade,
• MEM30219 Cert III in Engineering Mechanical Trade,
• MEM30319 Cert III in Engineering Fabrication Trade.
OR
• Are expected to complete the 3rd year of their (from list above) engineering apprenticeship training with Chisholm within 12 months.Physical:
Language, literacy and numeracy
Applicants must be physically fit and able to work within an engineering workshop, in specific, be able to lift and move heavy items, use
power tools and handheld tools.
Cognitive/Emotional:
Applicants must be able to communicate in a professional setting using the English language.
Experience:
Prior to enrolling, or complete a pre-training assessment for literacy and numeracy of BKSB assessment with an outcome of ACSF exit level 3, working level 3.You are required to complete a language, literacy and numeracy skills test before course commencement. This will determine course suitability and if you may need additional support.
We use an approved online skills review tool to determine your language, literacy and numeracy skills within the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).

Practical placement
There are no practical placement requirements for this course.

Simulated work environment
Students are required to bring and wear appropriate PPE – safety boots, safety glasses, full length cotton work shirt, full length workpants. Hooded tops, shorts and track suit type clothing is NOT permitted to be worn in engineering workshops.

Chisholm courses are subject to minimum and maximum group numbers. Courses may be cancelled or postponed if minimum numbers are not achieved by the start date of the course.
